Yes, "fear" is at the root of white supremacy/white racism. But what exactly do they fear? I contend that it is the fear of the loss of control, the loss of the ability to dominate black people and to keep us in submission. At bottom, it is the fear that should they lose "control" and "domination," black people will treat them the same way that they have always treated us. They fear retribution and vengeance.
