Yeah, States Attorney Fox may have played a little footsie and favoritism in this case. So what?

I’m reminded of 1983 when Harold Washington was first elected as the first black mayor of Chicago. He was accused, lambasted, and dragged through the mud because a couple of disgruntled law clients years earlier were dissatisfied with his legal services; and because he did not file income tax returns for almost twenty years (returns which would have yielded a refund to him rather than him owing the feds).

At that time, my now deceased father said something then that I’ve never forgotten: “If Harold Washington steals every dime that crosses his desk, he will never catch up with the crime and corruption of all the preceding white mayors.”

Same thing now with Foxx. How many white DAs have railroaded how many thousands of black men and black women into the joint for “crimes” that white defendants got passes on? Think about how many cops in Chicago and across the nation have skated because white “prosecutors” refused to indict.

So, I don’t care whether Smollet lied or did not lie. I applaud Foxx, however, for attempting to level the playing field. If and when she runs for mayor, I will be her biggest — and proudest — cheerleader.
