I think Professor Glaude said it best in response to Stephanie Rhule. The majority of white people (the very large majority) refuse to look at themselves in the mirror....to really see themselves naked. To do so would reveal to themselves just how ugly they are and always have been. As you and the professor point out so well, Trump is just the latest manifestation of that ugliness.
