Very well said. In my latest essay on the Ahmad Arberry case I note that the prosecutors insisted that "race" had nothing to do with that three-man lynch posse's killing of that young man. Same with killer-cop Potter who murdered Daunte Wright. Same with even George Floyd, and so many others.

You are so right. Most white people today twist themselves into knots trying to avoid or deny what is staring them in the face daily, nightly: This is and always has been a white supremacist/white racist country. (And it looks like it always will be).

Speaking of mirrors, I often wonder how these folk can look at themselves in the mirror each day knowing how much suffering, blood, death, and cruelty lies just behind their reflection.
