True enough. But! Back in the ’60s, there were also a great many “ordinary” white Christians (and Jews) who denounced segregation — some even lost their lives in the struggle for civil rights in the South.

Black people have always known (and appreciated) that there are a great many “good” white people, less-racist white people, who have put it all on the line to try to help black people. Hell, the abolitionist movement, including most “stations” on the Underground Railroad, were run by empathetic white people throughout the whole history of slavery. (And let’s not even talk about ole John Brown)!

No. Most black people do not hate all white people. But history tells us that most white people hate us.

And that’s the problem….a real problem. The problem is and always has been that the “good white people” have never constituted a majority of white people.
