This story is in line with the fact that every aspect of American life, bar none, is suffused with white supremacy/white racism. It also reminds us of the canard put forth by millions upon millions of white people that they voted for Trump for any reason other than his blatant and brazen racism --"economic anxiety," they said in '16. In 2020 (after four full years of his undeniable and obvious racist ways, including his allowing and ignoring a deadly virus to spread because it killed more black people than anybody else), even more white folks voted for him than in '16.

As Tim shows here, white "identity" -- "whiteness" -- for those who think that they are "white" supersedes even family ties.
