Thing is...after she published her piece, she came under heavy criticism from all quarters. As Trump might say, "Many people..." demanded that she retract this statement and apologize.

She did just that. She apologized...to cancer patients; and then "retracted" her statement, saying, "What I should have said is that the white race is a malignant cancer upon the world!"
