The childhood game you played reminded me of an old joke about why white people just can't seem to understand that reparations not just for slavery, but for the entire 400-500 year history of maltreatment of blacks, are not just necessary, but required:

Two poker players were playing poker for 400 years. One was cheating the whole time, every single hand. Finally, the cheater's conscience gets to him and he decides to stop cheating, admit he is wrong, asks to start the game all over from scratch, and promises to play fairly and honestly from now on.

The other player says, "Hey, that's great!.....But…ah…what are you gonna do with all those chips?"

Excellent analysis, as always.
