Just got my copy yesterday. I love your review but disagree that it is a "difficult" or "tedious" read.

I find it fascinating.

I'll probably review it myself sometime later, but for now, this book goes right up there with Dr. Kendi, Nell Painter, Carolyn Andersen, et al. true histories of this nation-state and of this world.
