I’m a retired paralegal in Chicago. For 35 years, I worked the Cook County Courthouse and Jail in Chicago. Back in the late ’80s and early-to-mid- ’90s, white prosecutors used to participate in a little game they called “Niggers By The Pound.”

It worked like this: After being sentenced by a judge, each black defendant was shuffled off into a side room and told to step onto a scale. At the end of the week, the prosecutors who had convicted the highest number of blacks by weight, would win a prize — usually a fancy dinner at one of Chicago’s fancy downtown hotels or restaurants.

Don’t believe me? Or you think I’m exaggerating? Google “Niggers By The Pound” — Chicago Tribune.
