Ike was the last Republican president who actually gave a damn about "we the people" -- all the people. I was 7-years-old when he sent troops to Little Rock in '57 to "escort" those nine black kids to integrate Central High School. For the GOP, the presidency has been on a downward slide right into its cultish worship of Trump.
