I was 19-years-old when they shot Dr. King. I remember vividly watching the "news" and saying this exact same thing: "He KNEW he was going to be killed." That last speech was simply confirmation thereof. Days later, my elderly grandmother from Arkansas told us "young people" that: "No black person should be surprised at his assassination. It's what they do. It's what they always have done. It's who they are. It was only a matter of time."
