I submit that your reading has not been deep enough. You have what appears to be a cursory knowledge and understanding of white supremacy/white racism. There are now whole libraries devoted to systemic, institutional and structural racism which can and will reveal the real world to you. For the victims of whiteness there is nothing "silly" about it. I gave up "whitesplaining" (explaining white people to white people) long ago. It's just not worth the time and energy. You know what your people have done and continue to do. You just won't admit it...not to yourself or anybody else.
But....Just in case you're serious....
For starters, try Professor Nell Painter's (Princeton) tome, "The History of White People."
And, of course, countless others, particularly the essays and novels of James Baldwin, who once wrote that, "The only reason that I am black is because you think that you are white."
Thanks.
Oh, almost forgot. Read my piece which opens this essay about the history, nature, frequency and ferocity of white racist coups in this country: “An American Coup Is Nothing New." Then get back to me.
