I know…for starters, how ‘bout “honoring,” even “worshiping,” scientists (of all stripes), teachers/educators, “social justice advocates,” philosophers (and other truly deep thinkers including…ahem…unheralded authors and writers, etc.

See, way back 1,000 years ago when I was in high school and then college, I was constantly amazed (and frustrated) that the jocks got all the “glory,” all the praise…all the girls — just because they could run fast and jump high? Who does that benefit?

At the same time, I was carrying a 3.9 GPA, and only my own nuclear family seemed to notice.

Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate actors immensely (especially Denzel). But at bottom, all they are doing is interpreting and bringing to life words written by somebody else.
