I keep coming back to something Toni Morrison once said: "There is something seriously wrong with white people." She explaned: White people suffer from a particular form of mass mental illness that only they can fix. They seem to need “race” in order to express their “humanity.” I don’t need race to be a human being, a fully functional and whole human being. She says, if you can only be tall when and because somebody else is on their knees, then you have a “very, very serious problem.”
