I gave up long ago trying to elicit guilt admissions from white people. It's pointless because most of 'em think they've done too much for black people already and long ago tuned out our pleas and demands for just treatment.

See, as long as they continue to benefit from this racial heirarchy which they constructed, their racism as a whole will remain intact. Not until they have to actually give up something -- power, mainly -- will they even begin to understand themselves.

And power -- political, social, cultural, and especially economic -- is all they care about. Oh...and fear. They are afraid of us because they they think that once they relinquish power and control that we will treat them the same way they have always treated us. They do not understand that black people are the most forgiving people on earth. The most defeated people on earth.

It's just crazy.

So, as stated, I gave up "whitesplaining" long ago. To have to explain to white people why they should -- must -- just do right is crazy, too. As Baldwin once said, they can't do the right thing because "they have been white too long."
