I do not contend or write that DeSantis is of Cuban heritage. That's obvious, I thought. He does, like Rubio, however, heartily embrace the imported and domestic white supremacist ethic and ethos of both Cuban and Italian "emigres." The scholars and authors who have thoroughly documented the global scale of white racism/white supremacy are too numerous to list here.

But, may I suggest Princeton emerita Professor Nell Painter's signature tome, The History of White People, and Noel Ignative's "How the Irish Became White"?

Ignative doesn't just trace the Irish's path into whiteness/white supremacy/white racism....but the Italians as well.

Professor Painter traces the genesis of whiteness all the way back to the ancient Greeks, Socrates and Plato notwithstanding.
