Here's the thing: White men see "equality" as a zero-sum proposition. Look, if everybody gets "equal", that means that they "lose." They lose their preferred position and top spot in the social, political, economic and cultural heirarchy -- which they created. Equality means that they will have to "compete" with everybody else for stuff that they've always taken as their birthright.
