Here in Chicago, Mayor Lightfoot gave $288 million in federal Covid money to the city cops, despite the fact that it is once ofthe worst departments in the country (in terms of killing unarmed black people), and despite the fact that most white cops openly display their hatred for her.

That $288 million was supposed to go to the poor black and brown neighborhoods for job development and training, infrastructure, building and maintaining permanent housing for homeless folks, mental health issues, etc.

We (black and brown activists and citizens) are working hard to make sure that Lightfoot is a one-termer.
