Brilliant, as usual…history is a bitch. I’ve long pondered over why white people are so obsessed with skin color. Then 30 years ago, I finally read and heard the late Dr. Frances Cress Welsing. Her theory is that what white people fear more than anything else is “genetic annihilation;” that “white” skin is produced by a recessive gene which is suppressed vis-a-vis all “colored” people everywhere, who simply have more melanin (the protein/gene that produces color). Thus, if all people were free to “comingle,” then soon there simply would be no more “white” people. So, beginning in the mid-to-late 15th century (when colonialism/imperialism got started as they raced out of the backwater continent of Europe) they invented and institutionalized a “racial hierarchy” or racial pyramid, positioning themselves at its pinnacle, of course. As Dr. Welsing put it, for white people, at bottom, white racism/white supremacy is a defense mechanism, a survival strategy.

Again, well done.
