It's mind-blowing that there are still eye witnesses to this white atrocity. I've written a number of essays about Black Wall Stlreet without the benefit of actual, living, breathing black survivors' heart-wrenching stories. (One of which may be found here: "Anatomy of a White Race Riot").
You are soooo right. Sistah Fletcher's live and in color narrative brings this thing home to all of us. Yeah, she looks and sounds and talks and acts like any Sistah Jones or Mother Bolden in any Baptist or AME church anywhere....or our very own grandmother or grand aunt.
