Back in the early '80s when I got my first paralegal job, a middle-aged, white male lawyer, a partner in the firm, "explained" to me why white Chicago would not, could not vote for Chicago's first "serious" black candidate for mayor -- Harold Washington.

He said that "it's gonna take at least another generation or two" of young white people to really overcome their (white America's) deep-seated white racism, white supremacy and anti-blackness.

Well...that was four generations ago...and how have those now middle-aged and senior white folk responded to eight years of America's "First Black President"?

Donald Trump.
