Back in the '70s, as a sailor aboard a US Navy warship, I traveled several times to Singapore. I was completely floored by its racially "diversified" society. There did not seem to be any one group of people who dominated politics or the economy.

I was also amazed at seeing extremely dark people with straight hair and pointed noses. Some of them were so black that they were actually blue-black; and their skin seemed to sparkle when the sun touched them just right. They are some of the most beautiful people on this earth. Were they Tamils, as you describe?
