An alternating low-grade and “hot” war against black people has been underway even before Trump's first day in office. Actually it dates back to the destruction of Reconstruction, circa 1876–77 right on up till this morning.

"Brawl", "assault", "attack" -- I'm not into semantics. The whole world saw what happened and should understand that this is simply another open and violent upgrade from the "usual" killer-cops, the "Karens", the "lone wolves," etc.

1-6-21 put the whole thing in proper perspective...and signals that the next "event" will occur when Trump is convicted and sentenced to prison. That's when rejuvenated (now underground) "militias" will re-surface. Trump is just the latest manifestation of open anti-blackness. You are right, tho. This time that white supremacist/anti-black genie will not go easily back into the bottle.

But! As Montgomery demonstrated, black people are well aware of all this. We’ve (my parents, grandparents, great grands, great-great grands, etc. have tried everything possible (and mostly nonviolently, but not always) to demonstrate to white people that we really are human beings — just like them. But this generation has decided that “enough is enough.” That there is apparently, evidently no redeeming most white people.

But know that they are not just wringing their hands over this shit; that they are not helpless -- or unarmed.

I was 19 in '68...After King was killed, I thought (hoped) the revolution had finally arrived...but! Well, we all know what happened. There are still many black people languishing, wasting away in joints nationwide ever since that time. I just barely missed being one of them. (I hung out with the Panthers, participated and led “actions” against Indiana University and got expelled/dropped out in my junior year — with a 3.9 GPA, etc., etc.) I tell the story of the night King got shot while I was in school…It’s somewhere here on Medium in at least two pieces, if you or anyone else are interested.

I'm too old now (74) to do much more than "witness" and chronicle through my scribblings what is about to go down, as it happens, and why it happens.

Again...white people are not the only people with weapons.
