This body shaming seems to be limited mainly to "Western" societies. In most of Africa, the "larger" women are considered the most "beautiful." Is that still "body shaming" but in the other direction?

Medgar Evers, Martin, Malcolm, Fred Hampton, and countless others, were all victims of the FBI's and Hoover's COINTEL Program which had as its only goal to "neutralize" black resistance to "the white power structure." It succeeded spectacularly. By killing off or imprisoning black leadership, the Civil Rights and Black Power Movements shriveled up and died along with them. (An astonishing number of Black Panther Party members are still rotting away in prisons throughout this land).
The same dynamic is being played out today with the "mysterious" deaths of so many Black Lives Matter leaders and supporters.
In 1976, after finally winning his first Grammy for “Best Album,” folk songster Paul Simon gave one of the most astounding acceptance speeches of all time. After thanking his fans, his producers, fellow musicians and singers, musical engineers… and even his parents, he then said:
